The one hectare grounds are planted as an arboretum, sympathetic to the mountain environment, while offering the advantage of lower maintenance. An unusual feature of the grounds is a fully enclosed courtyard, with roofed sitting and dining areas. There is a large shed, one half of which is designed for gardening equipment etc with electric roller doors on opposing walls for ease of use. The other half is currently used as an artist's studio but given its fitout could just as conveniently be used as an office or a sleepout. This half of the shed is fully lined, insulated and has a tiled floor.
